is pleased to announce their third Workshop, which will take place at

Potsdam University, Am Neuen Palais,


from Tuesday, April 1, 2008
to Thursday, April 3, 2008.

It is sponsored jointly by the Université Franco-Allemande / Deutsch-Französische Hochschule in Saarbrücken, and the Mathematical Institute of the University of Potsdam. The aim of this Spring School is to discuss new developments on topics at the interface between stochastic mechanics, euclidean quantum mechanics and contact geometry. The invited lecturer is Jean-Claude Zambrini from Lisbao.Young researchers are specially invited to participate. There will be ample time for discussions.

Practical information



Locations of the Workshop

Potsdam is the capital of the State Brandenburg, at 25 km from Berlin. The Mathematical Institute of the University is located in the campus ‘Neues Palais’ which is in the park of the castle (map here).

On Wednesday, the meeting will take place at the summer house of A. Einstein in Caputh.

 


How to reach the University?

  • From Berlin Zoologischer Garten Station, take the RE 1 (regional train) in the direction Brandenburg (25 minutes) until the small railway station ‘Potsdam, Park Sans Souci’. The Neues Palais campus is at 10 minutes walking distance. The Mathematics Building, House 8, is the first building on the left (see this Map).

  • From the Schlossgarten Hotel just walk 10 minutes trough the Park Sans Souci.

How to reach the Hotel?

  • From the Railway Station ‘Potsdam, Park Sans Souci’ at 5 minutes walking distance.

  • Guests arriving by air in Schönefeld Airport may take the direct hourly regional train RB22 to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof and change in ‘Potsdam Charlottenhof’.

Note: One 2-hour ticket (Zones A-B-C) is valid for all bus and S-Bahn rides (in both Berlin and Potsdam) and costs 2.70 €, adapted maps of the University and Potsdam for the Workshop
